2020 ACS Public Speaking

The Power of Listening

The 2020 ACS Public Speaking event was held online with 13 participants from our member schools in the junior, intermediate and senior sections. We congratulate all participants in what the adjudicators from the Debaters Association of Victoria (DAV) described as an exceptionally high calibre of presentations.

The diverse range of topics covered key issues such as “in school solutions for improving teen mental health” to “why we need more female leaders” to “islamophobia and the media” and everything in between. Well done to all students who were required to speak to a screen rather than an auditorium full of people but did an outstanding job of conveying the heart of their speech, with a little humour along the way.

Thank you to the DAV for making the event possible by hosting it online on behalf of the ACS.

Please see the table below for the top 3 placed participants in each section. Congratulations.
