The FV & SSAV Premiers Schools Girls Cup
The FV & SSAV Premiers Schools Girls Football Cup brings together Senior Girls Soccer teams from across the State to compete in a ‘best of the best’ competition. Eights teams from their respective School competitions played off against each other for the championship on Wednesday, 31 August.
Many schools participating fielded elite players from FV JGNPL competition , NTC girls state team players and A league Academy Junior players. The ACS was proudly represented by Loyola College.
Several students from Loyola’s Championship winning team from the Summer season were unavailable due to illness or injury, however it was an amazing effort from the girls that participated, which included some Year 8 and 9 girls who stepped up to fill in on the day.
The team played three qualifying games on the day, with the highlight being a 3-2 win against Mercy College. The girls effort against Maribyrnong College – who went on to win the tournament – should also be commended, keeping them to just three goals.
All games were played in great spirit and every single player contributed greatly to the team efforts. We are confident that a full strength Loyola team on the day would have strongly challenged to win the tournament.
Well done again to all the Loyola team members – a fantastic opportunity for both the players and the coaches, and we look forward to competing in next year’s competition.
FV Senior Boys Premiers Cup
The ACS was represented by Overnewton Anglican Community College at the FV Premier School Boys Football Tournament on the 2nd September. The team were excited by the challenge of competing against some of the best schools across Victoria. The competition was as challenging as expected, with the team playing some of their best games of the year.
We look forward the further opportunities for Overnewton and our other member schools to again represent the ACS next year in these wonderful competitions.
