ACS Senior Summer Grand Finals Wrap

The 2026 ACS Senior Summer Grand Finals were held on Wednesday 25 March, with teams competing across a wide range of sports in challenging weather conditions. Despite the interruptions, the standard of play remained high, with several close contests and standout performances across all divisions.

Basketball
Westbourne Grammar School claimed the 1st Boys title, defeating St Michael’s Grammar School 42-37 in a tight contest. St Leonard’s College secured multiple titles, winning the 2nd Boys (48-39 vs Loyola College), 4th Boys (56-46 vs Westbourne), and 5th Boys (54-36 vs Loyola). Westbourne also featured strongly, taking out the 3rd Boys (44-24 vs Overnewton), while St Leonard’s Blue defeated St Leonard’s Green in the 6th Boys (38-26).

Cricket
In a closely fought 1st XI match, Westbourne Blue (8/105) held off Loyola College (10/101), securing a narrow 4-run victory in one of the tightest finishes of the day.

Futsal
Overnewton Anglican Community College dominated the futsal competition, winning all four grades. The 1st Boys match was particularly competitive, with Overnewton edging Westbourne 3-2. Other results included 2nd Boys (4-3), 3rd Boys (5-1), and 4th Boys (4-3), all in favour of Overnewton teams.

Soccer
St Leonard’s College claimed the 1st Girls title with a strong 3-1 win over St Michael’s. Westbourne Blue secured a commanding 9-1 victory over Westbourne Gold in the 2nd Girls.

Hockey
Westbourne Blue edged St Michael’s Grammar School 1-0 in a low-scoring but tightly contested 1st Boys match.

Softball
Overnewton proved too strong in the 1st Boys, defeating Westbourne Blue 14-7. In the 1st Girls, Westbourne recorded a convincing 12-6 win over Loyola College.

Table Tennis
St Leonard’s College claimed both table tennis titles, defeating Westbourne Blue in the 1st Boys (8 rubbers to 7, 44-30 on games) and St Leonard’s Blue overcoming Westbourne Gold in the 2nd Boys (8-7, 39-33).

Tennis
Westbourne Grammar School dominated the tennis finals, winning both girls’ divisions. The 1st Girls recorded a comprehensive 10-1 (67-19) victory over St Leonard’s, while Westbourne Blue defeated Westbourne Gold 8-4 (61-45) in the 2nd Girls.

Volleyball
St Michael’s Grammar School claimed the 1st Girls title with a straight sets victory over Westbourne (3-0, 75-55). Westbourne responded in the 2nd Girls, defeating Overnewton 3-0 (75-48). St Leonard’s were strong across multiple grades, winning the 3rd Girls (3-1 vs Westbourne), 5th Girls (3-1 vs St Aloysius), and St Leonard’s Green taking out the 6th Girls in a high-scoring 3-2 match over St Leonard’s Blue (110-76). St Michael’s also secured the 4th Girls title with a 3-0 win over Westbourne.

Across all sports, the Grand Finals showcased the depth and competitiveness of ACS competition, with every match played in great spirit despite difficult conditions. Congratulations to all teams who competed and to those schools who claimed premiership titles.Top of Form
