2025 ACS Athletics Championships Recap

Location: Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

The 2026 ACS Athletics Championships were held at Lakeside Stadium on Monday 1 June, bringing together athletes from across the Association for a full day of track and field competition.

On a very wet and cold day, students showed outstanding resilience, determination and school spirit. Despite the challenging conditions, the standard of competition remained exceptionally high, with strong performances across every age group and every event.

Westbourne Grammar School were crowned the 2026 ACS Athletics Combined Premiers, finishing on top of the overall aggregate standings with 2,197.50 points. St Michael’s Grammar School finished a very close second on 2,176 points, while St Leonard’s College placed third with 2,158.50 points. Overnewton College were also right in the mix, finishing fourth on 2,153.50 points, meaning just 44 points separated the top four schools.

Westbourne’s overall premiership was driven by a superb performance in the girls’ competition, where they claimed the Female Team Scores title with 1,162 points. Overnewton College finished second on 1,089.50 points, narrowly ahead of St Leonard’s College in third on 1,088 points.

St Michael’s Grammar School enjoyed an outstanding day in the boys’ competition, winning the Male Team Scores with 1,110 points. St Leonard’s College finished second on 1,070.50 points, with Overnewton College third on 1,064 points.

Across the year-level competitions, there were a number of impressive team performances. Overnewton College won the 13 Years Combined, 14 Years Combined and 16 Years Combined titles. St Leonard’s College claimed the 15 Years Combined and 18 Years Combined titles, while St Michael’s Grammar School won the 17 Years Combined title.

The depth of competition was a highlight of the day, with different schools featuring strongly across the boys, girls and combined results. The final standings reflected the strength of ACS Athletics, with all member schools contributing to a competitive and spirited championship.

The ACS congratulates all students who competed, as well as the coaches, staff, officials and school teams who contributed to the smooth running of the event. In difficult weather conditions, the commitment and sportsmanship shown by all athletes was a credit to their schools.
