2023 Teams representing the ACS

Teams representing the ACS in State competitions hold their own against opponents.

In 2023 the ACS was represented in both the AFL Herald Sun Shield and the Football Victoria (Soccer) Premiers Cup.

The Loyola College Girls Soccer team participated in the Football Victoria Premiers Cup on Friday 25 August. They played 4 games in the pool rounds winning 3 and finishing with a goal differential of +9. This strong showing earned them a semi final place where they lost narrowly to Caulfield Grammar 2-1.

Westbourne Grammar School Boys had the same opportunity to represent the ACS on Monday September 28. They won 3 of their 5 matches where they finished top of their pool. They fought hard in the semi finals only losing the match by 1 goal to St Monica’s College.

The following day the girls at St Michael’s Grammar School represented the ACS in the AFL Herald Sun Shield. They participated in Victoria’s longest-running school football competition showcasing some of the best young football teams and players. Although they didn’t make it through to the next round, the SMGS girls showed great courage, graciousness and resilience.

On Tuesday September 5, the boys from Westbourne Grammar School took to the field for the Herald Sun Shield. Westbourne prevailed by taking out the premiership by beating out tournament favourites Christian College, Geelong 4.5.29 to 1.1.7. Jake from Westbourne was awarded the best player on the ground by the umpires.
